Medical Insurance Billing and Coding (MIBC) is one of Everest’s most popular career programs. MIBC is critical to the operation of physicians’ practices, health clinics, hospitals and any other facility that needs to process medical insurance claims to pay its doctors, nurses and other service providers.
The responsibilities of the typical MIBC specialist include:
- Entering insurance claims into a database using standard codes for medical diagnostics, treatments and procedures.
- Submitting claims to the appropriate insurance companies.
- If claims are denied, conferring with the appropriate physician to ensure that the claim was properly entered and, if necessary, resubmitting the claim with new information.
Because of its popularity, MIBC is taught throughout the system of Everest College, Institute and University. You can usually complete MIBC training in less than a year. For more information, please visit www.everest.edu.
Programs, program lengths and program schedules vary by campus. Campuses vary by state. Everest College, Everest Institute and Everest University are part of the Everest family of schools.
