Paralegals help lawyers get ready for hearings, trials, closing and meetings. Paralegals are responsible for a number of duties, which may include helping research laws and judicial decisions related to a case. And their duties may vary depending where they work. By law, paralegals, which may can’t present a case in court, provide legal advice or settle legal fees. But their work is vital to the cases and projects on which they work.

There are several different types of law firms where a paralegal could work,  including immigration, labor law, personal injury and criminal law. No matter where paralegals work, many of their duties are usually performed in an office or a law library. This job is usually a good match for people who are detail-oriented and interested in doing research.
