A massage therapist performs massage and bodywork. Massage therapy has been around for thousands of years and is used to promote mental and physical health. Many massage therapists find satisfaction in their work because of the many benefits they provide to their clients.

Massage therapists may work with a wide range of clients. Some need relief from injuries or pain and others are looking for a relaxing appointment that will leave them feeling better long after the massage ends.  The type of client often depends on where a therapist works and that business’s focus: chiropractic, spa and physical therapy are just a few of the types of businesses where a massage therapist might work. Licensed and qualified massage therapists can also work in medical clinics or even independently.
