Bachelor of Science Nursing Degree Program Complements Campus’ Offerings; prepares graduates to take the NCLEX-RN® licensing exam
As the nation’s baby boomers age and the need for health care grows, the nursing shortage in the U.S. is expected to intensify. To help meet the demand for nurses, Everest College has begun enrollment for its Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) program at the college’s Salt Lake City campus.
The three-and-one-half-year baccalaureate degree program is approved by the Utah State Board of Nursing and includes coursework in supportive general education and science courses. The program also includes 912 hours of clinical experiences where students have supervised hands-on clinical training.
BSN graduates are prepared to take the NCLEX-RN® licensing exam. Upon passing the exam, a graduate obtains licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).
“We are proud to offer the BSN program at our campus,” said Stephanie Byrd, Everest Salt Lake City campus president. “With our state-of-the-art skills and nursing science labs, and expert, hands-on instruction, our students will not only learn the biological, physical and social science aspects of nursing, but also learn the critical thinking skills that their future patients expect and their future employers demand.”
Upon graduation, BSN graduates can expect to work in entry-level positions in hospitals and medical centers, school settings, physicians’ offices, urgent care and surgery centers, nursing home facilities and rehabilitation clinics. Career placement assistance is available for all Everest graduates.
